Why I am losing faith in religion

in #naturaldisaster7 years ago (edited)

One moment we were happy, the festival season as coming and we Nepalis celebrate everything with happiness and pomp. The next moment heavy rainfall and floods destroyed all happiness. Loss of lives and property in billions now.

This photo taken by a local photographer sums up the tragedy. This 8 year old child died of water borne diseases without getting proper attention in the midst of the floods. Religiously, the child needs to be properly buried after a ritual. But the family could not find a burial ground because everything around them was submerged in water. This is the child's uncle laying to rest the deceased in a grave of water, very extreme last rite for a Nepali.

Another couple of photos are from Facebook of the locals at Chitwan who tried to rescue the wild animals from the nearby reserve which got swept by the flood.
