The following is my Living Cookies recipe, which is a variation of an oatmeal cookies recipe on the Amy's Healthy Baking website. But unlike Amy's aforementioned cookies recipe, these cookies are alive because they contain living probiotics.
1 cup organic instant oats
3/4 cup organic sprouted whole grain flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (aluminum free)
1 1/2 teaspoon of organic inulin powder (prebiotic—food for probiotics)
1 1/2 teaspoon organic sprouted chia seed powder
1 1/2 teaspoon organic Ceylon cinnamon powder
1 1/2 teaspoon organic black maca powder
1 1/2 camu camu powder
1/8 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
2 tablespoons of homemade ghee from grass-fed butter (there are lots of articles and videos online that teach how to make ghee—it is similar, but not the same, to making clarified butter)
1/2 cup of raw organic honey
1 organic free range egg
1/3rd of a package of minced probiotic dried apricot by Mariani (unlike most strains of probiotics including most strains of B. Coagulans, this specific strain of B. Coagulans probiotic called GanedanBC30 is able to survive baking temperatures—look at this medical journal article for more information)
Mix the dried ingredients together!
Melt the ghee in a stove pot, let it cool. Then mix the egg into it, and then mix the honey into it!
Mix the dried and wet ingredients together, because they are lovers.
Use a spoon or spatula like Amy does to make 12 perfectly round cookie shapes, on parchment paper, on a pan.
Bake at 325° Fahrenheit for 14 minutes.
Violà!
The more probiotics a person has, the sillier they are!
The less probiotics a person has, the more depressed their emotions are.
The same way that Dog is Man's best friend, the tiny little microscopic probiotic-people are Man's best doctor.
I always feel so happy after having these living cookies. They're just such happy little people.
