New Microscope - Imaging Of CBD-Buds

My partner bought herself a new microscope to be able to image the different herbs that we use in our alchemical works. And out of interest to be able to peer into the microcosmic realms that we can't behold with our naked eye.

We took the opportunity to check what the CBD-Flowers that were sponsored for our Projects looked like. I had already seen images on the internet of regular cannabis with THC, and what is cool to note is that the trichomes are rather different on the CBD-Flowers in that the white glands which usually have a round tip which contains the resin/THC are practically absent here, you see the white glands, but they are missing their rounded head for the most part.

Thought it would be cool to share, the first photo is my favorite since that is the densest trichome shot from this batch.

You can see from all the trichome glands only the odd one has a rounded resinous tip. Since the cannabis is rated at below 0.3% THC I presume that those tips that are complete with the round resin head are the actual few glands containing THC.

This is merely my conclusion I did not read up on this, I initially thought that both the THC and CBD would be found in those resinous balls at the tip of the trichome, but looking at these pictures gives me the feeling that the CBD is probably stored in some other part of the plants structure than just the rounded resin heads.

Although I could be wrong, these flowers are not particulary high in CBD either, just 6%.

@curie voted both for witness, thanks a lot for the curation and great job you do on the platform! :)

Thanks, hopefully once we get used to the microscope, we can manage some even better shots than these :) Appreciate the tip ;)

Nice close ups, and wise choice of tags! ;)

Thanks :D I have to say the tags were recommended to me by @alchemage and @riverflows. I was quite lost in that department up to then :P
