Challenge: 20 STEEM to write a post about Homesteaders Co-op
You may have heard that Homesteaders Co-op is in the running to win 20k delegation in a contest put on by @theycallmedan. We teamed up with @naturalmedicine to make it this far and both communities will receive 1k delegation for 1 year. Now @riverflows and @sagescrub have decided to pool our communities and join forces to vote for Homesteaders Co-op in the 20k contest.
We realize that if one of our communities receives good fortune, both of our communities will benefit! That's how we roll!
Challenge Rules
- Vote for Homesteaders Co-op in the dPoll. Here is the link to the poll
- Create a steem post encouraging folks to vote for @homesteaderscoop in the dPoll, including the above link
- Include what qualities you appreciate the most about the Homesteaders Co-op community and marketplace
- Re-steem this post
- Challenge ends February 27, 2019 at 3pm PST
I reserve the right to disqualify any entry if I feel that they put little to no effort into #3 above.
Prizes
- 20 steem will be divided up between participants equally
- Participants will receive an upvote from @homesteaderscoop community account
That's it! What? No really... actually keep reading and I will reveal the real secret to winning this challenge for yourself and for our community:
This challenge is not about winning 20,000 delegations for our community account.
If we did win the 20k delegation it would be really nice. It would add over $0.40 to our vote power which is pretty significant. But that's not the real reason for this challenge!
This competition for 20k delegation is the perfect medium for getting Homesteaders Co-op in front of steemians that haven't heard about it before.
Because we are a new marketplace, we need all the help we can get to spread the word! We are already getting out there in front of new people. We are getting new followers. More people are interested in what we are doing!
That's great! Let's keep that ball rolling!
Despite being a brand new community and a new marketplace we are making a great first impression. We are capturing attention. Our vendors are making sales and they are keeping 100% of the proceeds.
Here are some of the comments that we received from people that voted from us in the dPoll:
Business on the blockchain. Nuff said.
Love how these guys are giving us a means to trade/barter steem for real-world products with an ethical outlook.
Amazing “real life” group of people that are in particular offering hand made and home grown products for crypto, and trading amongst themselves for crypto. Groups that promote crypto exchange deserve all the help they can get as their work strengthens the blockchain popularity. Their encouragement amongst #steemians to use crypto instead of $ to purchase products is very important for the success of #steem.
@homesteaderscoop will be supporting those whom are producing quality sustainable products for others to purchase in Steem and represents a better path toward an ethical future and connecting/supporting folks taking the actions to create a new reality.
So you see...
People that know about Homesteaders Co-op love what we stand for... if you are reading this you are one of them. And so I call on you for your help.
This challenge is all about reaching a wider audience for our Homesteaders Co-op. The growth and success of our co-op will benefit our sustainability minded communities here on steem.
This challenge is an opportunity for our community to learn how to engage in grassroots marketing... which is exactly what Homesteaders Co-op needs. We don't need big marketing budgets if we can market our Co-op as a community.
p.s. We just released our beautiful new logos and badges designed by the talented @frejafri! Check them out here! We think she did great!

Thank you for entering! I just made a comment on your post. I really appreciate everything that you've said! You got exactly what we are trying to accomplish here :) Thank you!
Absolutely!!! Thank you so much for your support as well!
Looking forward to getting involved with you all more ;)
Done! Finally! :)
Yay!!
This is just so amazingly cool.
I gave this community a plug in this morning's Pimp Your Post Thursday show over on the Steemit Ramble, because I think it truly deserves it. I noticed a few of those communities that are in the running are significantly big, and don't really need the delegation (notice I said "need", not "deserve"). Plus, this is a business being run on the blockchain, with all proceeds going to the producers of said products, which is great!
This is what the Steem blockchain is all about in my opinion!
Thanks so much @metametheus! I appreciate you sending more people our way! This is so great, we are getting more eyes on our co-op and letting more steemians know what we are doing! I totally agree.. technically we don't need or deserve the delegation either.. but hey it's all good fun!
What do you think about the "bonus" idea of starting a chain of linked challenges where everyone can enter in all the challenges?! I never saw any such linked challenge before!
Yeah I was thinking about how I could do something funky there.....
I'm kinda getting inspired to get back into permaculture and growing medicines again..... I used to do this many many years ago when I was married. Hanging out with all the @naturalmedicine and @homesteaderscoop folk is bringing that vibe again.
What do you guys mean here??

Thanks for the amazing graphics! I've put them in the post now :)
Hey, I just had an idea for a contest to run linked to this contest.
Prize:
I will create a book in 4 different digital formats of folk's material they had been thinking of publishing in a book or material from their blog posts
The prize will be awarded to the person who makes the best post about what they would want to put into a book and why they would want to sell it at the Homesteaders Coop (gives folks a chance to have a product and become a vendor) A post that would also have a call to vote in @theycallmedan 's dPoll
What do you think?
Well it's off to the drawing board now for I'm all enthused!
Wow! That sounds like a really amazing book! I am so curious to know what will come of it. I am so glad you are inspired to link your contest to this contest! Woo the things we can do when we are feeling creative. Wow how fun!
Do.it!!!! Such a cool idea!!! Want me to make you graphic???

I Love your graphics and I used both of them in my contest at: https://steemit.com/dtube/@porters/j8jio8dp
Thanks so much!
I'm all in on this one!
I just did a post calling for a boost to Homesteaders Co-op by taking a few seconds and casting your vote for @homesteaderscoop trying to get more votes but now I see that it is more than that. It's a chance to let people know about what is happening here with this free community marketplace, ethical and very supportive.
I love your dedication to make this new model, a model with such vision, the best it can be. It is so worth it!
Thanks for recognizing that @porters! Its so easy to get swept up in the idea of winning or wanting to win.. that desire can pull us away from what truly matters. Nonetheless Homesteaders Co-op can do with a marketing push, and I have been really wondering how to inspire our community to get in the spirit of marketing it.. this really got me thinking we could ride the wave of this contest excitement into marketing our co-op and spreading our message!
edit... I took out the bonus idea for linked contests. It was too confusing.
