RE: Finding Root Causes & Supporting My System: #ihaveanxietytoo

A few things! I Love ashwagandha! It's my go to anxiety remedy. It's calming and energizing all at once and helps a ton, especially with milder anxiety when I just need to take the edge off.
The "think positive" is a double edged thing for me. On one hand, there have been studies done that show that changing your thoughts to "positive" rather than "negative" can induce a serotonin response, thereby making us chemically happier and less anxious. On the flip side, positive thinking can encourage us to not look at ourselves fully, or realistically, and can add to the onion effect of anxiety, being just another layer to peel away later. One could argue that positive thinking is more a tool akin to medication (a temporary fix) than a tool for self awareness. I find that peeling back the layers, although difficult and painful, then sitting with the discomfort, is much more healing than positive thinking.
Also.... Pranayama. ♥ 🧘🏽‍♂️ But you already know my thoughts on that! 😂
Thank you for sharing this. So chock full of information!! I absolutely love it. I'm going to resteem and share with some friends as well. Breathe on friend!

Oh pranayama, always!!! 3 x a day nadi shodhana - well, at least twice! I agree re the positive thoughts, and if you can't have them, well, there's another negative feedback loop. I know ashwagandha as withuania, and love it too. It's SO IMPORTANT to peel back the layers - painful often, but so worth sitting with. Thanks for this beautiful comment, I most defiinitely think we are on the same page with this one!
