Health Benefits of Mango

Tonight I will discuss some of the health benefits of mangoes, because behind the acid content in mangoes there are so many benefits of mangoes for our bodies.

(1). Maintain healthy hair and skin
In a study in animals, vitamin A deficiency is at risk of experiencing severe hair loss. This is because vitamin A is an important substance for maintaining healthy epithelial tissue in the skin and hair in order to keep both moist and healthy.

In addition, eating a portion of yellow fruit can also meet about 75% of the body's daily vitamin C intake.

The combination of vitamins A and C is needed by the body to produce collagen. Collagen is a special protein that provides and maintains skin elasticity to prevent wrinkles and sagging prematurely.

(2). Reducing blood pressure
Eating sweets often causes blood sugar to rise. But after the Oklahoma State University research team looked at the effects of mangoes on overweight people, their blood sugar levels dropped quite dramatically compared to the time before taking part in the study.

The participants were asked to routinely eat 10 grams of dried mango every day, which is equivalent to about half a fresh mango.

Decreased blood sugar levels are thought to be the effect of active compounds and special antioxidants in the fruit.

(3). Maintain eye health
Lutein and zeaxanthin are the two antioxidants most commonly found in mangoes. Both are reported to help protect the function of the retina and lens of the eye.

The function of the retina and the lens of the eye that works well can improve the sharpness of vision, reduce the effects of uncomfortable eye glare, and reduce the time needed for the eye to recover after seeing bright light.

The substances lutein and zeaxanthin also work to protect the eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays, and slow the development of cataracts and the danger of macular degeneration.

Well, I love mango specially ripe mangoes, so delicious. But I would love to see more details about mango like scientific name, culinary use , climatic considerations (which climate mangoes needed to grow) and so on....
