Rainbow, Sunset and Flowers - A Beautiful Sunday in Panama

in #nature7 years ago

Today, I had a difficult time figuring out which picture to feature on my blog post for #beautifulsunday. I have had a couple of rainbows as well as a couple of flowers as the main picture before. When there is so much beauty here in Panama, it is difficult to decide which is the best. The rainbow, however, still makes my heart flutter the most and it has, once again, won out over the others!

It is hard to truly imagine how beautiful and bright this rainbow really was. Strangely this rainbow only lasted for a few minutes, so I was glad that I captured it as quickly as I could.

If you are into sunsets, I think you will appreciate this picture as well. It was from last night and it was truly amazing. The clouds all had this lovely orange glow, but the camera picked up a little yellow. Our trees make it so we cannot truly see the sun as it sets, but we can see the beauty reflected in the clouds.

Today we went to our friend's house for a little Bible study with friends. I took a few minutes to enjoy her wonderful flowers. I think this is my favorite on their property. It's a deep red hibiscus.

Every time we go, their driveway is lined with lovely blooming hibiscus trees! This is a lovely yellow one and it shows off the amazing blue sky!

A double yellow hibiscus was the last of these flowers that I took a picture of. She has so many different colors - some day I will do a post with all of them together! It would be quite a long post as she has so many varieties!!

I love these gardenia, not only for how pure white they are, but also because of their amazing smell. Gardenia is one of my favorite smells!

The last flower, the Bird of Paradise, is one of my favorites as well. I have fond memories of my dad singing a song about the flower (which I will include at the end - Lol). I just think it is such a lovely, tropical flower!

Do you know what the white things are on the grass in your rainbow picture? They look like tombstones. (So ... I thought I'd ask.)

Ha ha. They are "light houses" that got started and never finished years ago. They were supposed to line the neighborhood with lights but they aren't hooked up to electricity.

Your country is so beautiful, I have real hibiscus and real birds of paradise. Must be amazing seeing them in open not just in a shop.

Do the birds of paradise attract birds or insects etc?

Yes, they are really pretty out in the wild. I'm not sure what the birds of paradise attract! I will have to keep an eye on it next time.

I really like that first flower photo! It's so nice and sharp and the stamen of that flower is fascinating. Looks so nice and warm, there!

I'll trade, if you want. We're in the middle of a blizzard, here!

A blizzard sounds insane right now. I would freeze. I am so used to warmth that it would probably put my body into shock!!

I love the flowers. Great catch of a rainbow. I like when the sun lights the clouds up like that. That happens a lot over here on our coast. So pretty! Good shots, thank you.

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I'm just using my iPhone to catch them. My friend got a fancy phone that takes great pics and I can't imagine what these would look like with hers! ;) Ha.

Oh, our camera quality is so high with phones these days. It's crazy.

Thanks! It was really pretty, but a short one this time!

Wow. You live in such a beautiful place.

The rainbow and sunset pics are soul-shaking.

thanks

Thank you. Yes, they really are beautiful! :)

I can see why you found it hard to choose the beauty there is outstanding as evidenced by all these photos

Tip!

Thanks! There were a lot of great things to see, but I think the rainbow might be the most unique for...winter... ;)

Ohh yes I loved that rainbow image so beautiful

You are making me miss Hawaii. I had hibiscus and bird of paradise in my yard. Miss it. I do have the gardenia in NC. Although it is still kind of small. Sounds like a peaceful Sunday visit. What was bible study about?

We are starting a new study with some friends so this was the first time to meet. I'm not sure exactly how it will come together. This was about the healthy church. I think we're going to pick a book in the Bible and walk through it together. The flowers are definitely nice here. I love them!

I think my wife and I are going to do the Bible in 90 Days program. We do bible study on Wednesday nights, where we deep dive with our church. But we thought the other might be a fun project to try.

Nice - that sounds like a good program to read through the Bible that quickly. I'm sure it will be interesting to have it all so fresh as you finish.

When I saw the photo of the rainbow, I thought “that’s very low in the sky - I wonder if Rainbow Dash made it.”

I need to cut down on the amount of My Little Pony cartoons that my daughter and I watch.

Lol - yes, sounds like you need a little less MLP in your life. ;) Ha.

original photos, i apreciate your work, thanks, i upvoted for you!

Thanks! I appreciate you stopping by.
