21 August 2017 - Solar eclipse - La Salette Shrine, Attleboro, MA, USA
We went to see the eclipse there mostly because the shrine features lots of open space - mostly just large parking lots - and is a pretty Catholic-themed site. Apparently a few other people made a similar choice of a place to check out this eclipse from.
Given that the nearest full eclipse location was about 1,000 km away what we got to see was a very partial eclipse. One of the revelers brought a welder's face mask with him, and through it it looked like a solar disk with an about 5% chunk of it bitten out in the lower left corner.
L and I where the only ones using the camera - so the good pictures are hers and the others are mine.
Enjoy!
Humans were not the only revelers present.
Once the eclipse was over the sun got noticeably brighter.
