Yellowstone in the Rain
Hello Steem! I've been out of town for the past 10 days or so, travailing to Montana with @joleenwillis for a wedding. The couple was originally from here in our home town in northern California, and my brother was in the wedding, so they invited me along with Joleen, who would be photographing their wedding. In exchange for being Joleen's assistant on the wedding day, she said she would take me to Yellowstone--pretty good trade!
After a long 12 hour wedding work day we headed back into Yellowstone--we had drove through part of the park on the way up, but didn't have time to stop and enjoy it. It was a cloudy rainy gloomy day, but we were happy to not be working, the vacation part of the trip had officially started. We found this spot near the Mammoth Spring, taking a little trail out of the parking lot where we stumbled upon this little spring--the best part was the fact that we had it to ourselves!
The wet and foggy weather did make it hard to see some of the stuff we wanted to, but we still enjoyed the couple of days we spent exploring the park.
Got to see a lot of wildlife--buffalo, bear, elk, pronghorn...and tourists! We were driving down the road and I spotted this guy cruising through the steam of a hot springs, would've made a awesome photo with all that steam around him, but by the time we parked he was no longer in the steam. He did treat us to a show though, rubbing himself on a dead tree 20 or so feet away--we thougt he was going to knock it over!
that are amazing pictures😍
Thanks!
