Daily Nature Fix: Blue Waters on Black & White. (Original Photos)

in #nature7 years ago

Good evening, Steemit! Tonight's Daily Nature Fix is going to be kind of a hybrid of the two most recent ones: one was about blue water, and the next was in black and white. So tonight, we're going to have another one of these "black and white with a touch of color" things. I did one a few months ago and and they made for some neat images.
This time, I took some photos showing blue water (one of my favorite things), and made everything BUT the water grayscale. Now let me clarify that I did NOT alter the color of the water at all. Didn't tweak the vibrance or the saturation. Changing the surroundings to B&W was the only alterations I made. That action alone ended up enhancing the water color a lot!

^^^This first one was a photo of my most incredible creek I've ever seen. It's the creek running off of Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park. (assumingly called Avalanche Creek?) Again, the blue water color hasn't been enhanced. It was really that blue in person.

^^^This is a photo taken in Grjótagjá, a volcano-formed cave that contains a hot spring of some beautiful blue water. The water is awfully hot, around 125°F and people aren't supposed to enter the water... but some stupid tourists did anyway while we were there.

^^^This one is my least favorite because I couldn't make the leaves on the right side look less clipart-y, but the color of the water is just awesome. This was also taken in Iceland and is of Silfra, a fissure between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, found in Þingvellir National Park. You can actually snorkel and scuba dive in theses fissures and their haled as some of the best diving locations in the world due to the crystal clear water extending visibility up to nearly 300 feet deep.
