story on the island of rubiah, aceh
my friend who came from Aceh say it, this song that implies the distance of our homeland ,,, but have you ever visited or at least know the two places? For those of you who are in Java, Kalimantan, Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi and Maluku, the cities of Sabang and Merauke are (and indeed are) very far away. So do not be surprised when visiting the island of Sabang or Pulau Weh you actually meet many Malaysian tourists, because they are geographically closer. At a much cheaper cost and faster time their holidays to Sabang may be like Jakarta people on holiday to the Thousand Islands, and that's how I look at it from different sides of the viewpoint.
Pulau Weh or also more famous by the name of Sabang is located in the northwest of Sumatra Island. The Pualu is surrounded by the Malacca Straits in the North, the Indian Ocean to the South, the Straits of Malacca in the East and the Indian Ocean in the West. The island with an area of 156.3 km² consists of several small islands formed as a result of the eruption of the island of Weh (121 km2), Rubiah Island (0.357 km2), Seulako Island (0.055 km2), Klah Island (0.186 km2), and Island Rondo (0.650 km2). At the time of the Dutch East Indies government, the Sabang pier had become an important port as a coal base for the Royal Dutch Navy which was later developed into the goods trade traffic.
