Tillandsia ionantha "Fuego"

in #nature6 years ago (edited)

It's a little plant from the family of Anannas .

Purple tilliness is cultivated without soil, placed or hung, suspended or attached to a branch or bark, using ties, staples or wire, the time for the plant to produce its own fixing roots. If the plant moves, it will not settle naturally on the support.

Tillandsia ionantha requires a strong light and must be close to the window: it must have at least some direct sunlight. It accepts a temperature between 6 and 35 ° C, and likes to be out outside during the beautiful season, installed for the summer in the branches of a tree.

Watering is done by misting with rainwater, 2 to 3 times a week in summer, or 1 time a week in winter. This plant supports drought much better than moisture. It rots if its cellulose scales remain waterlogged too long. The atmosphere around Tillandsia ionantha must be aerated so that it dries in a few hours and becomes whitish again after each watering.10612856_345700775624207_1389315722794303559_n.jpg
