Carpenter Bees Have Returned

It’s spring time and the weather is nice and warm. The trees are blooming, and the birds are chirping. In addition, the carpenter bees have returned. Dang!

These bees are trying to run me off of my porch! They don’t attack unless provoked, but they swarm really close to your body if you come to an area where they are trying to lay eggs.

I had to research them last year because I did not know what they were. They dig holes in untreated wood. I had to look really hard to find the holes that they had bored because they don’t put those holes in an area that where there is a lot of traffic.

These bees are a real nuisance. I want to continue to plant my vegetables, but I may have to wait until the morning.
