Up in the Mountains
It’s been a couple of days since I last shared some photos with you. We did some mountain hiking in Triglav National Park.
We didn’t go too far but we still reached 1578 meters altitude (~5200 ft.).
We passed many cows as they spend their summers high in the mountains. The milk is used for cheese production. We tasted some cheese afterwards and could definitely taste the difference from the cheeses bought in grocery stores.
All the wildlife and vegetation is protected in the national park so picking flowers is prohibited. The flowers grow almost all the way up to the mountain tops and there are so many species you can’t count them all.
The view was magnificent. We could even see the Mediterranean Sea in the far distance. It was slightly windy that day which was great because we were very hot by the time we got all the way up 🥵
These photos are like postcard 😍 Combining the aromas of the plants on the area affect cheese taste directly so I can not guess how it delicious 😋
