Friday 21 Desember, 23:23 at night the sun was at the lowest point below the horizon. Today the sun has turned and it is getting brighter every day. The first appearances of the sun will happen in the end of January month.
Yes I think we can cal it polar nigh, I live at 68 degree north. the sun is below the horizon for two months. Now I`m really looking forward for the first glimpse of the sun. Thanks for comment, wish you the best for the new year :)
