Mississippi oyster producers question Pearl River dam plan: report

Oyster processors in Mississippi have raised questions about the impact a proposed flood control project on the Pearl River near Jackson, Miss., would have on oyster production in the Mississippi Sound.

This could end up being an important article about the environment of the lower Pearl River. I'm usually no fan of the oyster industry in the Louisiana/Mississippi area, but they probably have a good case on this one. I guarantee you that there will be unattended consequences, like sediment being trapped behind the dam instead of going into the swamp where it's needed. As a nature lover this project scares me.
