A few years back we decided to take the kids on an adventure vacation to a little town in QLD called The Caves.

We were not so lucky, When we went because it was starting to rain. We still got to explore cave system via a tour guide and got pretty muddy. But did not get to do it all.
Five bat species roost in Capricorn Caves at different times of the year, but all favour the caves in warm wet weather

So glad we paid the extra for the Capricorn Caves adventure pack as we got to see a lot more than normal. There were lots of bats, as you can see in the picture, flying all around us.

Be wary on the suspension bridge as it is extremely slippery when wet.
My wife and son nearly slipped.

Capricorn caves has a scientific dig site too containing deposits Marine fossils of the original corals.These corals are the rugosa and tabulate types–not the reef-building corals of today

Little bent-wing bats Miniopterus australis visit in their thousands, making a great meal for the ghost bat Macroderma gigas,leaving only wings. I generally collect these and sell them to local witches

As I used to volunteer for QLD National parks, we managed to get in some closed to the public caves as seen below.

I think if you want caves go here we ended up going through 3 mine caves, 1 cave that used to be a restaurant it also has a darker sinister side too, and two other closed display caves'. Not to mention the area is full of wild caves

There is no kiosk anymore (QNP Run)
