I can't imagine that there are so much snow already in your mountains. I believe people go hiking just because of nice fresh cold winter day. I love sunny winter days, especially when you have proper clothes on, then no problem how cold it is :)

Thanks @stef1 for pleasant comment. We have snow and cold but only four hours with daylight so better to wait some months for skiing in the mountains :)
