Endangered Wild Dogs of Africa - The Painted Dog

in #nature7 years ago

Hello Steemers,

Location: The Kruger National Park.

The African Wild dog also known as the painted dog are some of the rarest and most endangered species in the world. They hunt in packs with telepathic communications that still baffle scientist today.

In the Kruger National Park there are an estimate of only 200 dogs in a park that is over 2 Million hectares. South entrance to North entrance is some 450 km in length. Sightings are extremely rare of these beautiful creatures because they live and hunt in packs of up to 30 so the location of the more or less 7 packs is very difficult to come by. First time visitors to Africa often confuse the painted dog with the Spotted hyena.

I have been fortunate enough to spend many days following some of the packs in the park and seen them in action hunting.

These are a few of the Wild dog images i have photographed.

I hope you enjoy.
