Secret Santa /Wichteln
The German speaking Discord community DACH had a secret santa this year. I started to crochet a nice pair of fingerless mitts in a soft and cosy wool/poly mix but when I got the name of my giftee there was this small remark 'vegan'. OK - enough cotton in the stash! I started to crochet again...
Dieses Jahr gab es dank @lichtcatchtoby eine Wichtelaktion innerhalb des deutschsprachigen DACH-Discord-Servers. Wer mich halbwegs kennt weiss das es da natürlich etwas aus eigener Produktion gibt: ein paar fingerlose Handschuhe aus Baumwolle wurden flugs gehäkelt!
OK, the eye is just for showing the hole for the thumb ;). I made some chain stitches and closed the work with an 'invisible' seam - well, nearly invisible. As you can see below it shows a bit when it's stretched because I pulled the seam 'stitches' a bit too tight.

Auf dem Bild unten sieht man die 'unsichtbare' Naht etwas, ich hätte ein wenig lockerer arbeiten können. Egal, ist Handarbeit!
Another gift was a 'washing fish', which is my go to gift for all purposes - a fast and easy knit, fun and useful. Doesn't the fishy look eager to be soaped up and clean either yourself or your pans and pots?
Dann wurde noch ein 'Waschfisch' verschickt. Die sind ein praktisches kleines Geschenk, schnell gemacht und nützlich.

Danke ! Das ist Kettmaschen-Häkeln (auch bosnisches Häkeln genannt) und diese Art sieht wirklich aus wie gestrickt und ist super elastisch.

Oh, das kenne ich gar nicht. Habe mal Tunesisch gehäkelt, aber das ist mir zu anstrengend.

I've never had the patience for any kind of needle work. It is really amazing to see though! Keep being amazing and have a great weekend.

That is lovely that you made sure the gift for you exchange was vegan friendly for the recipient, I am sure she/he really appreciated it! The colour is so pretty too.
