RE: So, what do all of you guys think about this net neutrality stuff?

in #net7 years ago

Right now I can easily access the sites I like, many of them sites that dispute the official mainstream media narrative (like counterpunch.com, theintercept.com, consortiumnews.com). Without net neutrality sites like these, sites without a lot of commercial support, would be much more difficult to reach because they couldn't afford to pay for higher bandwidth to give people faster access. So net neutrality is critical for the free exchange of ideas on the internet. Without it all you'll hear are the narratives pushed by sites with lots of money. It will be all propaganda, all the time. That's why net neutrality is critical.

I totally agree! Is there anything we can do to stop laws that jeopardize net neutrality from passing? To me it seems like a losing battle but the Internet needs to remain free. Aaron Swartz and Ed Snowden didn't work for nothing.
