5 Simple Tips For Practicing Self-Care

in #new6 years ago

Self Care is one of my favorite topics to tap into because lets face it, ME time is the most important time!

There are countless ways you can incorporate self care into your daily routine, it’s all about not only finding what works best for you but what you genuinely enjoy doing as well.

To help inspire you I’ll share some of my favorite tips for showing yourself a little love throughout the day!

Wake Up 10-15 Minutes Earlier

I know this one can be a bit challenging since every minute of sleep in the morning is precious but I find waking up a bit earlier than I need to allows me to actually be able to appreciate my morning coffee or matcha instead of rushing out the door with it. For some of you, getting those extra minutes of sleep could be your self care, but for those of us that need our caffeine fix in the morning, waking up earlier can be a real game changer!

Go For A Walk

Getting a breath of fresh air is always a good idea! Whether it’s just a quick walk around the block or going for a hike, going outside and getting your body moving will help release endorphins a.k.a. happy vibes! This is also a great time for you if you’re feeling overwhelmed at any point during the day and just need to take a pause-go for a quick stroll, take a few deep breaths, then get back to work with a clear head!

Meal Prep

If you know you’re going to have a busy week ahead, meal prepping on Sunday is seriously a life saver! Having your meals set for the week is just one less thing to worry about and gives you more time to relax when you’re home.

Take Your Lunch Hour To Actually Have Lunch

Whether you work in an office or work from home, there is no excuse for you to not have lunch and actually enjoy it! It’s essential for you to have those moments away from work and really be AWAY from it. Learning how to compartmentalize your life will help you to be more effective in all areas.

Take A Hot Bath

This is by far my favorite way to treat myself! Taking a nice, long, hot bath is the perfect time for you to really get in tune with yourself. I personally like taking a bath in the morning and evening - in the mornings I take this time to meditate and help set my intentions for the day away from all of the noise (yes, cell phone included), in the evening this is my time to unwind. If you’re ending your day with a bath, try adding magnesium salts to help calm the body and a few drops of rose oil to help quiet the mind.

I hope these simple ways to incorporate self care into your daily routine have been helpful! Remember, find what works for you and make it a habit to show yourself some love every day, you deserve it!
