First Impressions of Steem

Hello fellow "Steemers"...my name is Jay Fresh. I, like some of you who may read this, am new to this whole Steem, Steemit, SMT, cryptocurrency and Bitcoin wave. To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing or how any of this stuff ACTUALLY works. Don't get me wrong, I understand why Bitcoin was created and what the blockchain technology is (thank you "Banking on Bitcoin", a documentary on Netflix), but other than that I've found most of my best (and easiest to understand) information has been from word of mouth. That word, brought me to Steemit. "Make money from all the things you do on regular sites, on Steemit", "There's people on there just a lil older than you that have retired from all the money they made on there", "Make money fast on there". All the "get rich quick" dreams we all get sold and buy into at some point or another in life. Well, after finally taking the leap and creating a Steemit, waiting for the verification and snooping around on the site for details the last week, I've come to one solid conclusion...I STILL have no idea what I'm doing on Steemit...but hey, at least I completed my first post lol.
