I have joined Steemit about a week now. The concept of social media on Web3 is still very new to me.
As a newcomer, one phenomenon I see is that the top paid posts, usually at the "trending" tab or "hot" tab, are usually the same few people. Some articles are valuable, at least to me.
However, there are some post that are not quite meaningful and are sometimes quite short too. Somehow these post managed to get of hundreds up votes, which leads to high earning.
I believe this is a probable scenario: These people are in Steemit for quite sometimes, and have built up a community of friends. Whenever anyone in a community make a post, everyone in the community will up vote it. Over time, everyone in this community will gain Steem Power, which makes their up vote valuable, and each member of the community will earn Steem much easier.
As a newcomer, you don't have such luxury of a community, always giving high power up vote whenever you make a post. In order for new comers to grow fast, newcomers need to help newcomer. We should add each other and help up vote post of all of us newcomers. Only by doing this will we have a chance to earn a reputable rewards and survive the ocean of web3 social media.
in conclusion, look for newcomers with less than 50 followers. Add them. Up vote their posts. And for those who got up votes and comments to their posts, please check who are the ones that gave you up votes and who followed you. Please follow them back, up vote their posts, and help the newbies community grow.
