Volunteers Needed to End Veteran Suicide

in #news6 years ago

You may be aware that there is a march planned to end veteran suicide on Sunday, July 1st in New Orleans, LA. For more information about the March of the Dead Veterans you can click here.

What we need from you right now is to help us to spread the word. There are many ways to do this:

  1. Change your profile picture on all social media to one of the below images.

  2. Print out copies of the attached flier and pass them out at your local VA, VFW, Operation Stand Down, Wounded Warrior Project, or anywhere else one might find veterans and families of veterans. People will be coming in from all over the country for this march, so just hitting up your local area is a great way to make sure the whole country has an opportunity to join us.

  3. If you can help us offset some of the cost of the permit and the skull masks please donate here. (Permit is $500.00 and skull masks are right around $5.00 each X 200 masks. Plus there are other smaller costs for water, a flag, a casket, and other incidentals... like printing out fliers.)

  4. Call your local news stations, newspapers, radio stations, etc. and let them know that we plan to march to bring attention to the 20 veteran suicides that happen every day in this country. Media can contact Marcus Pulis at [email protected] to schedule media interviews with the organizers.

  5. Come and join us for the March of the Dead Veterans on Sunday, July 1st in New Orleans!

Let's give voice to the voiceless who are gone but not forgotten.

You can't blame those veterans or even talk about their case. They have been through so much and of course they got some trauma from wars. I wish everyone happy life and happy every day in freedom and thank you Adam for fighting for the most needed and for all citizens. I wish you a lot of luck!

A match to end veteran suicide?
A match just can't solve it all, these people go through a terrible lot and find it difficult adjusting to normal life.
You truly can't blame them and it's disrespectly to talk about their issues anyhow, truly something must be done but it has to be more than a March.

We play the blame game I love it 😍

I wish instead of people trying to end "veteran suicides" or "gun suicides" they would just work on ways to help end or maybe better understand suicide. Suicide is a tricky problem, on the one hand I support someone's right to take their own life philosophically, on the other hand it is really shitty when people take their own lives.

While spreading awareness and showing solidarity with Veterans is important, we need to find a way to heal PTSD. I just recently found out about a new therapy that stops depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Most antidepressants take up to 8 weeks to work, which can seem like a lifetime to those who are suffering. A couple days ago I was telling my psychiatrist about my husband's depression, and he told me about Ketamine treatment. He said it's the greatest breakthrough in the field in 50 years, because it heals these ailments rapidly. He thinks insurance will be covering it within a year. Here is an article with more information on how Ketamine treats PTSD.

I am seeking this for my husband, and I looked into clinical trials and found that several VA hospitals are recruiting people to participate. I know this is a bit off topic to your cause, but maybe you could look into this more, and print flyers to hand out to veterans at your march, this treatment has the power to stop suicide. Just a thought. :)

You should put the word out at Keesler AFB too

Just remember war is a BUSINESS FOR PROFIT for the Freemasons running DC. They routinely send the poor to die in them.
