Don't drive Drowsy. Being a little drowsy is enough to increase of getting in an accident. One or Two seconds of inattention can lead to disaster. Get a better night's sleep before a long drive and also on a regular basis. If you feel the least of bit groggy take action immediately, have a friend take over behind the wheel, find a rest area where you can catch up a few hours of sleep or take a break until you're feeling more alert.

Be Careful in extra weather. Drive below the speed limit, maintain extra space between you and the car ahead and especially be careful around the curves.
Don't follow too closely. Keep a safe distance between yourselves and the car ahead. You need enough time to react if that car makes a sudden turn or stop. Practice "three-second rules."
