An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude hit central Italy

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.2 has rattled central Italy, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS, for its acronym in English). The epicenter would have given about 10 km from the town of Norcia, in the province of Perugia and felt strongly in the Italian capital, Rome.
Local media speak of an earthquake of magnitude 6.4. They have also reported that the quake was felt throughout central Italy, especially in Rome, where several buildings shook for more than 20 seconds. It is reported that the earthquake has caused strong damage to the structure of the buildings and that there are people under the rubble in the town of Accumoli, province of Rieti.
