RE: Hurricane Irma is Now a category 5 Bigger than the state of Ohio - Hurricane Checklist- As a Florida Resident and with Family In Puerto Rico, Positive Energy is Needed. Stay Safe
Hi,
I just went through Hurricane Harvey. It was the MOST scariest thing I've been through. We had so much water. My neighbors all had water very high in their homes, to the point where they had to get on roofs. I've lived in Texas my entire life and have been witness to numerous hurricanes here. Nothing prepared me for the amount of water. My daughter and I ended up having to be rescued in a boat and taken to a shelter. We stayed there 4 days. My husband stayed home, to take care of our animals and I was on pins and needles the entire time. It was too much for me to handle. I can't swim, nor am I equipped to protect my daughter from flood waters. It could have been worse and it was for the many people who lost their lives, and their families and all of their belongings. I would have never anticipated this. We were 30 inches above the historical record regarding rainfall. If I could give one word of advice it would be to heed the warnings and get out of there. It was very surreal for me to see the water over my car and gate and looking at the water getting closer and closer threatening to breach my home and being an island surrounded by angry water. We were lucky as it didn't come in. But trying to fix my car and make it in to work is very stressful, keeping a positive view of things is paramount. I hope that you and your family will be safe and take the necessary precautions.
WOW, Brandi crazy all that happened, I wish you the best of luck and hope you get back on your feet quick. My prayers are with you.
Thank you, Your prayers are welcomed. :)
