I don't know anything about the laws in Canada I'm afraid. Do you have something similar to our Federal Trade Commission. An arm of the government that regulates warranties? I would image Canada does have something similar. It may not be worded exactly the same, but I have always seen Canada as caring more for it's people than the US and this is a protection for us.

Canada usually has very similar laws to the US on many things. I am not sure what organization or group would handle stuff like this. There are federal and provincial consumer affairs offices.
