So far so good this week with a small 0.28 unit profit starting to crawl back after a bad start even though everything still kind of feels like flipping coind and avoiding traps. Just 5 matches in the League this weekend with 3 of those played today...

Westerlo vs Kv Mechelen

Westerlo is a team with a lot of potential and one of the higher budgets in the league when it came down to transfers. Yet so far, they have not yet found their good form taking just 1 point away against Eupen followed by 3 losses against Club Brugge (0-1), AA Gent (1-3), Anderlecht (2-1) so all those losses came against playoff 1 teams which doesn't take away from what they brought not being enough. They do have Chadli back which should be an enforcement despite his age. Mechelen also didn't have a good start of the league with a fortunate draw away against Club Brugge (1-1), Losses against AA Gent (0-1), RWDM (1-0) which was followed by a surprise 4-0 win against Union who were very vulnerable on the counter. Their play hasn't been as bad as I expected so far . Coach Defour stated that he mainly aims to score more than the opponent so Mechelen potentially is an over team for me. That also goes for Westerlo who last season were 12W-4L on the over total line last season at home while having opposite stats away. Last season the line on this match closed at -0.5 @ 1.96 with a 2-0 deserved win for the home team with especially a great 1st half from Westerlo and a match where there were 16 corners. The teams and form however don't compare enough right now. I do see Westerlo improve a lot at some point in the season with them having a team that should end above Mechelen at the end. This combined with the fact that they had a difficult schedule so far made me willing to take an initial 0.3 unit gamble on Westerlo 1st Half +0 @ 1.830. Last season Westerlo was the best home 1H team while Mechelen ranged near the bottom.

Eupen vs OH Leuven

Eupen so far managed to take 7 points which is way more than anticipated. They took a draw against Westerlo back when their goalkeeper was Nurudeen who singlehandely gave 2 goals away, They took a surprise 0-1 win against Genk where they played well-organided never really getting in trouble or in panic. The week after however, they were totally trashed at home against Club with 0-5 while last week they managed to win the important relegation match with 1-3 against Kortrijk. OHL is one of those teams like Westerlo who are having a difficult time to adjust after losing some players. Maertens who was a key player last season in the midfield still is not at his best also. Unlike Westerlo, they haven't really done much on the transfer market which makes them look a lot weaker compared to last season. Still, OHL should be a team who ends above Eupen at the end of the season. Betting OHL as a favorite away is not an option while I can't say I'm willing to gambe on Eupen. I'm going into this match with a completely open mind and will see what it brings. No Pre-Game Bets

Kortrijk vs Standard

Kortrijk so far has been the worst team in the league and right now they are the #1 candidate for Relegation also still at 0 points after 4 matches. However, at some point they didn't actually look that bad while at others, their defense was just without chance. They do miss some strikers as Ambrose got injured while Avenatti is suspended. Standard also had a really bad start of the season and they have gotten to a point where they are the justified home underdog against Cercle Brugge. The main issue is that they lack the needed quality to be even a sub-top team. Especially in the attack they are lacking and only managed to score 1 goal in 4 matches. Nerves likely will be high with both teams and I can see this starting off as one of those matches where quality lacks on both sides while the fear to lose might be bigger than the will to win. This made me take a 0.3 unit bet on 1st Half under 1.25 @ 1.807
