For those who haven't been paying attention, the situation in #Venezuela is becoming dire... even more dire than yesterday, or the day before that.

From the sounds of this trusted source within Venezuela, fuel supplies are suppressed which is strangling all logistics routes in, turning the shelves of grocery markets bare across the country.

Whether or not this is government strangling supply, market forces, or a combination of both, the results are the same: less goods to buy with an ever-increasing supply of "money".

That's my girlfriend in the middle of one of the most fully suplied groceries stores near from our house...
The same is in the popular market, nothing at all.

@curncndpendnce:
Oh man... at least it’s clean.
I think that’s a common thread in all of socialist history: bare, clean cabinets

Source:
Yeah, and isn't the first time. But that reaches even this points that always has been full
There's no black market yet. No products at all

@curncndpendnce:
So how do afluent people get food in?
Or is afluence directly related to political connections only?

Source:
We're eating beans as breakfast 😂
I think probably yes...
There's no meat and the only protein merchants sell is pork
There's no carbos... recently i bought pasta like i was buying drugs...

@curncndpendnce:
Good God

Source:
Is the first time i see this kind of emptyness
I reached a lot of stores... nothing
And this is the 'rich'side of the city
You could have money but there's nothing to buy
I don't really know what to expect now. Supply is low AF.

@curncndpendnce:
Has the govt cracked down at the borders?

Source:
Not yet. Only have increased control over gas supply
I really don't know wtf is going on with supply
I hope that merchants are holding their stuff before sell it at a very low and cotrolled price

@curncndpendnce:
That’s how they’re strangling everything. Jesus.

Source:
Because if not, that probably means we'll face the starvation

What can be done in a country where there is no trust in the currency because it inflates past levels of sanity more than each day before it?

Stay tuned...
