HACKERS USING TRITON MALWARE TO SHUTDOWN POWERPLANTS AND INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS

Hackers are now using stuxnet like malware to shutdown industrial systems.Triton attack industrial control system (ICS). This works by infecting windows computer that are already connected to the ICS, which then attacks SIS devices. SIS are types of industrial controls used to monitor the performance of critical systems. SIS devices are used to detect critical conditions like overly high temperature or pressure and initiate action that will put the affected systems into a safe state. US government has already used this type of malware (STUXNET) used in Iranian uranium enrichment program.These types of malware put all the industries exposed to major destruction and damage.
