Hackers Prove A Point: Takes Down US Internet

in #news8 years ago (edited)

Boy, my internet sure has been sucking today - hmmmm I wonder why. :)

Well, I seem to be in the area of today's apparent "cyberattack" as reported by many reports has been effective.

I have this nostalgic feeling of watching WarGames as a kid for some reason...

"Shall we play a game?"

I first realized my twitter couldn't work, today. Then I went to play some stuff on Sound Cloud while working on my #steemit blog.

Then I read "Major internet problems reported after cyberattack " which reads:

A massive cyberattack hindered access to many major websites across the internet on Friday.

On Friday morning, Dyn — a company that hosts domain name systems — announced it has been the subject of a cyberattack that caused major problems for numerous websites. People reported issues with Twitter, Spotify, SoundCloud, Vox Media sites, Airbnb and numerous other sites.

Then I read more about the effects on the Daily Smell:

Internet users across the globe were hit throughout the day as 'several' massive cyber attacks hit a DNS service provider. This image shows problems reported with Level 3, a business service provider.

Also according to the Daily Smell, the following companies has problems:

Twitter, Reddit, Spotify, Esty, Box, Wix Customer Sites, Squarespace Customer Sites, Zoho CRM, Iheart.com (iHeartRadio), Github, The Verge, Cleveland.com, hbonow.com, PayPal, Big cartel, Wired.com, People.com, Urbandictionary.com (lol), Basecamp, ActBlue, Zendesk.com, Intercom, Twillo, Pinterest, Grubhub, Okta, Starbucks rewards/gift cards, Storify.com, CNN, Yammer, Playstation Network, Recode, Business Insider, Guardian.co.uk, Weebly, Yelp.

I'm very happy to say that Steemit was working fine all day. :) Surprisingly, my own site Daily Bitcoin News was also working fine. :).

I'd began to scratch my head and think about who was behind this... then I saw this tweet:

Now this brings me back to a few video/blogs I posted just days ago that lead up to all of this:

☲ The Fire of Blockchain is Set Forth to Destroy International Banking Cartels ☲

And then of course most recently for which Wikileaks refers to:

Banking Cartels Wage War Against Freedom of Speech

What did I say at the end of that last one?

"This is only the beginning."

Where are things heading?

It's interesting to see as we get closer to the election the more there are attempts to black out things in the media - all media.

When are we going to see this guy poke his head out around the corner surrounding all of this?

You know we will. He's the wizard of Oz in a way. Behind all the global strife in one way or another - yet some how gets away with it all in plain sight.

What do you think is going to happen next?

Comment below and discuss if you want.

I think it was the group called Annonymous.

Would love for them to hack into a car George Soros is in and crash it. Evil race baiting scum.

It's days like this that I feel we're teetering on the edge of anarchy.

anarchy, as usual, get's bad PR.

Too much of a good thing can quickly become a bad thing.

What was the good part?
Back in the day, in Texas, we used to hang horse thieves.
Back in the day, in Texas, "he needed killing" was a reasonable defense in a trial.

Perhaps we ought to bring back some of the old ways.
I wonder how many people were injured or died as a direct result of the internet going down?

the main fear response to the cyber attack involved corporations losing money. Well, that's not my concern. So much of our daily life from health care to emergency services of every kind depend on computers. It's a scary prospect and could end up in a nightmare future where cities are paralyzed. War Games is one scenario, mass chaos is another. Can block chains provide an answer?

It hard to tell who was the actually cause on the internet blackout. Would like to the that it has it's intentions against the bank but it's really hard to know that for sure.
