Mumbai: Train services resume after massive fire near Bandra station, 2 injured
A massive fire broke out near the Bandra station in Mumbai today afternoon. While no casualties have been reported so far, two people including a fireman have been injured. Train services have resumed.
A massive fire broke out near the suburban Bandra station in Mumbai this afternoon, briefly halting train services on the harbour line.

As many as 16 fire tenders, 12 water tankers and 3 ambulances have been rushed to the spot. The fire broke out during a demolition drive carried out by the municipal corporation in Behrampada locality near Bandra Station (east). Mumbai fire department declared it a Level 4 fire at 4:20 pm.

While no casualties have been reported so far, property worth lakhs of rupees has been gutted. Two people, including a fireman, have been injured. The condition of both is said to be stable.

All Harbour Line trains, both up and down which were stopped earlier, were restored at 4:40 pm, according to Central Railway sources.

The Bandra station has been evacuated.

Two nearby hospitals, Bandra Bhabha and VN Desai Hospital, have been put on alert.
