While the free market can provide excellent communication solutions to problems (such as these apps), the follow-up on those solutions would still have to go through a government/municipality instance (in case of roads at least), which as we all know will slow down the whole process a great deal unfortunately.
As usual, the technology sector pumps out great new inventions, but governments lag behind.
Some of these concepts are a bit intrusive.
The smartphone lane is ridiculous. And it's not accounting for future technology.
Agreed. Clumsy and shortsighted. Usual central-planned, governmental approach.
