Students from an elementary class ended up drugged after one of the students shared a bottle of gummies with their classmates.

What the child did not know, and less the other students, was that the sweet contained marijuana.

The events took place at the School of Excellence in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the United States.

According to the institute's director, Kristy del Curto, the students began to behave strangely.

First the youngest who brought the sweets began to feel bad in class and the teacher sent her to the infirmary.

There, she told the manager that she felt sick and dizzy, which was thought to have been intoxicated with food from the cafeteria, but when asked what else she had eaten, she said the gummies.

Upon finding the container in which it had been thrown in the trash when empty, the school staff knew that the gummies were actually marijuana sweets.

Five more children were monitored while eating the same gummies.

For this, the director called emergency services, who arrived at the scene and provided medical attention to the students, who were later discharged.

According to information from KRQE News, the girl confused her sweets with a bottle of gummies that belonged to some of her relatives.

It is worth mentioning that recreational use of marijuana is legal in New Mexico
