Analysis of Crooks running along rooftop before shooting Trump

in #news4 months ago

There's a lot of debate right now about how Crooks got onto building 6 to take his shots at Trump. The Copenhaver clip shows Crooks running left to right, then appearing at the rooftop in firing position. Here's my analysis from the clip.

After running from left to right, visible from the shoulders up, Crooks disappears behind the roofline at A. Six seconds later, he reappears at B (where he ultimately fires from).

Analyst Chris Martenson's video on it concludes that Crooks must have been on a different building, then disappears because he's jumping down onto a covered walkway to traverse to building 6.

I think he ran until he got to the channel in the roof he wanted, then kept a low profile as he moved up to the roofline to peer over. How long would it take someone to cover 40 feet in a hunched and then crawling position? Six seconds doesn't sound unreasonable at all.

In the screenshot above, his head disappeared at A because he got low and crawled up the channel to his sniping nest. I've drawn in blue where Crook's channel on the other side of building 6 is. That's where he was seen bear-crawling up just before shots were fired.

Honestly, I don't feel this is the most important issue right now anyway, but it would be nice to have it solved and out of the way so people could focus on more important stuff. Like who Crooks was working with. I just wanted to put forth what I think is a better explanation for the Copenhaver clip.

That's my interpretation of building 6, to scale, with each pixel representing 1 foot. Crooks is pictured standing (running) on the far side of the roof. Copenhaver's camera (taking the video shown in the screenshot above) is on the far left of the graphic, about 500 feet away. The blue line is the line of sight between the camera and Crooks, showing about 1 foot of Crooks (ie: his head and neck) above the roofline as he's running toward his channel.

In the Copenhaver clip, Trump is not directly between the camera and Crooks. In fact, it's not even close. I guess that means Copenhaver got hit by the second volley of shots (4, 5, 6, 7, and 8).

We do know that a cluster of people/things were hit by bullets:

Summary

I think it's possible Crooks was simply running along building 6, then crawling up his channel to peer over the rooftop. That explains everything seen in the Copenhaver clip.

After the first 3 careful shots at Trump, Crooks apparently switched to rapid fire and started blasting the crowd. (Why he didn't continue to aim at the Trump/secret service dogpile is a mystery to me. Maybe he, like the crowd, believed Trump to have been down? Either way, going after people in the stands is pretty cold.)

Like I said, there are more important aspects of this event. But all sound analysis helps as the puzzle comes together.
