Is Pedophilia Merely A Figment Of The Imagination?

in #news4 years ago (edited)

I know what you’re probably thinking. You’re probably scratching your head and saying, “Has this man lost his mind? Of course, pedophilia is not merely a figment of the imagination. It is quite real.” And you’re right. Pedophilia is very real, and it poses a danger throughout the world. It is a paraphilia and a psychiatric disorder that can cause people with it to do horrible things to innocent children. Pedophiles are people in dire need of professional help so that they do not harm children. I’m just as anti-pedophile as most of you are. However, I titled this Steemit article here of mine in the manner that I did to make a point about the lack of ethical responsibility that American journalists throughout the press and the media have exercised upon taking writer’s license with the definition of pedophilia and the likes in a way that is detrimental to society.

It appears as though self-proclaimed child advocates and self-appointed pedo-experts found their way into the press and the media years ago here in the land of milk and honey, because many journalists take no reluctance in misusing the terms “pedophile” and “pedophilia” to mean something other than how they are actually defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (“DSM-5”); and they couldn’t care less about how their professional misconduct in this regard harms innocent individuals. In a previous Steemit article of mine titled “What Is Mendacious Pedo-Shaming?”, I described how self-proclaimed child advocates and self-appointed pedo-experts have a propensity to make false accusations against others of being a pedophile and then shame them for it. Herein I am going to demonstrate how American journalists and the likes have really gone off the rails in their quest to mislabel as many people as they can as being pedophiles and the harms that this misconduct of theirs causes society as a whole.

A. American Journalists Habitually Mislead Readers To Mistake Lolita-Style Liaisons For Actual Cases Of Child Molestation And Pedophilia

Recently I came across an online article titled “Attorney general warns vigilantes not to conduct child sex predator stings,” which came out of Wisconsin. The title of the article on its own was deceiving, and it did not surprise me that the person who wrote it did not provide his or her name.

Wisconsin has been notorious for having some of the most ridiculously draconian statutory-age-of-consent laws in the nation. Wisconsin is where the famous Kevin Gillson case came out of, that alerted legislators across our nation that something needed to be done about our unconstitutionally broad statutory-age-of-consent laws.

Nevertheless, the above-described article begins in stating that “[g]roups have taken to the internet posing as children interested in sex with adults.” After reading this one sentence, one can easily be misled into getting an image inside their head of a 6-year-old girl chasing after a car with a 75-year-old driver and screaming, “I want to have sex with you!” Then you have to reason that no 6-year-old girl would ever do anything like that. No little girl that age would even be interested in having sexual intercourse with an old man or with anyone of any age for that matter. No 6-year-old girl would even be thinking about sex at all. It causes you to question what could be going through the journalist’s twisted mind.

The article describes the activities of Jay Pretty, who was the founder of the vigilante group named Worldwide Predator Hunters. As you read further on in the article, the journalist makes it appear that Mr. Pretty is going after sexual predators who seek to victimize children still in the playground phase of their life. If it were the case with him and his organization, I would say, “More power to him.” Some vigilante organizations have done so.

Below is a YouTube video containing a clip near the beginning of it of a vigilante organization stopping a man from prospectively molesting a 6-year-old girl. It is likely the only clip out of the five clips of sting operations in that YouTube video that is accurate in describing the suspect as a “child predator.”

A Child Predator Comes To Meet A 6-Year-Old Girl And Gets Busted

However, if you look through video after video of Worldwide Predator Hunters on YouTube, you will notice that not even one of their decoys posed as a prepubescent child under the age of eleven. All of their sting operations involved one kind of Lolita-style scenario or another instead. After reading further on in the above-described article, eventually the journalist clarifies that Mr. Pretty was referring to adult men meeting up with teenage girls. The unknown journalist might not inject the words “pedophile,” “pedophiles,” or “pedophilia” into his or her article, but the article is poorly written in that it wrongfully conflates child molestation with adult/adolescent sexual encounters.

Mr. Pretty reported that he was a victim of child sexual abuse himself and that he only wanted to protect children. Okay, Mr. Pretty. My heart goes out to you for all the suffering that you have endured throughout your life because of what some disgusting adult did to you when you were a child. However, if you cannot differentiate between prepubescent children in their playground phase of life and sexually active teenagers, then you really do not have a full grasp of reality and being a child sexual abuse survivor does not make you an expert on criminal sexuality.

Mr. Pretty? If your organization is called the Worldwide Predator Hunters, why have you and your organization not traveled to South Africa to protect many of the Afrikaner children as young as newborns who suffer rape, torture and murder at the hands of Zulu gangs? They need your help more than any teenage girl here in the United States of America who may be contemplating on straying outside her peer circles in search of romance or even merely a good time. Because you prefer to go on crusades that may only cause unnecessary embarrassment to individuals over something that probably won’t cause harm to anyone, what you do is not very “pretty,” Mr. Pretty. Pardon the pun.

Mr. Pretty? If you really cared about kids and wanted to wage war against child abuse, you would not be wasting your time pursuing Lolita-style liaisons but rather you would be seeking to reform the broken inheritance laws in our nation to ensure that no child suffering abuse or incest at the hands of their parents would ever grow up to be homeless and destitute. Of course, I should realize that you probably wouldn’t ever pursue anything of that nature, because there is no money in it for you and your organization or perhaps you and your colleagues are too cowardly to do so. Teenage sex has nothing to do with pedophilia or child molestation regardless of whether it is intra-generational or extra-generational. In any event, the journalist of the above-described article failed to clarify that his or her article was about illegal sexual encounters between teenagers and adults rather than about pedophilia.

Now, I can understand the outrage of many Americans as of this moment in the wake of an incident in California in which a 24-year-old man named Armando Cruz met up with a 13-year-old girl off the Internet and eventually raped her, burned her alive and then murdered her. Below is a YouTube video containing a news clip regarding that same atrocity.

A 24-Year-Old Man Was Arrested For Raping And Killing A 13-Year-Old Girl He Met On Social Media

Perhaps some vigilante organizations have stopped a tragedy like this from occurring before it had a chance to transpire. Perhaps some of these vigilante organizations have even prevented a few unwanted teenage pregnancies from occurring here and there.

Nevertheless, one point that I would like to stress is that if Armando Cruz had been a 13-, 14- or even 15-year-old boy and had committed the same crimes against the 13-year-old female victim, this story probably would have barely made the evening news and the newspapers, if at all. For some strange reason, our society doesn’t seem to take these sorts of crimes seriously whenever it is an underage boy perpetrating them regardless of the age of the victim as I pointed out in my Steemit articles titled “Underage Boys Usually Get Away With Rape,” “Could Deadbeat Teenage Fathers Be Worse Than Suspected Online Predators?,” “Can Children Sexually Victimize Adults?,” “Do Teenage Girls Really Find Older Men Repulsive?” and “Idaho Wisely Rejects Underage Marriage Bill.”

I have made it no secret in previous Steemit articles of mine that I have mixed feelings about the activities of vigilante organizations like Worldwide Predator Hunters. What particularly bothers me about these organizations is that sometimes I find that some of these vigilantes are more reckless and revolting than many of the suspects they pursue. At the same time, I realize that there are vigilantes out there who have done society good in ensuring the public safety in spite of their unorthodox tactics.

By the same token, these vigilantes need to understand that there do exist cases of “statutory rape” and carnal knowledge of a minor on our court dockets that warrant jury nullification in situations in which the defendant has been treated unfairly and the alleged teenage victim doesn’t want him to go to prison. They do not have the right to go blaming all of the problems of teenage girls on older men, because there are numerous underage boys who make these girls’ lives miserable. Many of these vigilantes’ videos tend to provide that same misconception to the public.

In my humble opinion, online vigilantes should be required to obtain a private investigator’s license before being allowed to conduct sting operations to catch suspected sexual predators. They should not have the same freedoms to go about their activities as bounty hunters do, because, more often than not, they cause unnecessary problems for the communities that they enter. Even Chris Hansen and his television crew got into serious problems back when they were televising their series “To Catch A Predator” on Dateline NBC as well as the YouTube series named Hansen Vs. Predator that followed shortly thereafter.

B. Teenage Boys Who Become Chris-Hansen Wannabes Are Reckless, Clueless And Even Hypocritical

Another online news article, this time out of Canada, that equally misconstrued Lolita-style liaisons as child molestation and pedophilia was this one by Petti Fong, and it was titled “Teens dress as Batman to catch pedophiles; cops not impressed.” Luckily, the journalist immediately acknowledges therein that she is describing Lolita-style liaisons rather than actual acts of pedophilia and child molestation. Now, I won’t completely badmouth Ms. Fong in this respect, because the people she interviewed also wrongfully took writer’s license with the definitions of the clinical terms “pedophile,” “pedophiles,” “pedophilia” and the likes.

Her article basically reported that three teenage boys dressed up like superheroes (e.g. Batman and The Flash) and set up sting operations to lure men to them who wanted to have sexual intercourse with teenage girls who were below the Canadian statutory age of consent of 16. These boys posed online as 15-year-old girls to do so. Hmmm. I guess they don’t want anyone moving in on their territory in the teenage dating scene. If they treated girls their age better, perhaps these girls wouldn’t go running into the arms of older men. Not that I am disparaging adult/adolescent romantic relationships, because I have stressed in previous Steemit articles of mine that such relationships can be successful and usually are so.

Two of these boys were 17 years old and one of them was 18 years old. After they would confront the men they lured to a given location in their superhero costumes, they would accuse them of being pedophiles and then film them for their YouTube channel. How Elon Musk of them! They should realize that pedophiles are sexually attracted to prepubescent children rather than to teenagers. Duhhhh!!!!! These men that they confronted were no more pedophiles than they were. Of course, they are teenage boys, and they don’t care whom they slander or humiliate; and, therefore, they engage in mendacious pedo-shaming as though it is acceptable behavior.

One point that I would like to stress is that teenage boys absolutely love statutory-rape laws and statutory-age-of-consent laws, because it gives them a legal monopoly over adolescent girls in the romance marketplace. It makes life so easy on them. For example, if one of them were to see their 15-year-old girlfriend sneaking around behind their back with a 23-year-old man and they wanted to get that older man out of the way, all they would have to do is pull out their cell phone and dial 911 instead of confronting the man as bravery would require.

Teenage boys younger than the legal age of majority absolutely love statutory-rape laws and statutory-age-of-consent laws, because they can scream “statutory rape” and insist that they were a victim of seduction in the event that an adult woman accuses one of them of forcibly raping her. Usually these teenage boys’ parents will side with them, because they don’t want them being locked up in a juvenile detention facility.

It should also be noted that even in cases in which adult women have proven an underage boy to have forcibly raped them, there is still nothing in the law that would prevent the underage boy and his parents from bringing statutory-rape charges against an adult female rape victim. An online publication titled “The Paradox of Statutory Rape” by Russell Christopher and Kathryn Christopher explains this same injustice in our American legal system. Of course, that is another Steemit article for another time.

I realize that the above-described Canadian article was published nearly a decade ago, but I will describe it as though it were recent in order to make my points about it. Luckily, the authorities shut down these three teenage boys’ sting operations and forced them to delete their YouTube channel. Therefore, perhaps they should channel their energy into shaming deadbeat teenage fathers instead if they care so much about teenage girls in middle school and high school.

In a YouTube video, a 14-year-old social media influencer named Danielle Cohn described her ordeal with her teenage baby daddy, Ethan Fair, after she found out that she was pregnant. Ethan Fair is also a social media influencer. Here is Ms. Cohn’s YouTube video below.

YouTuber Danielle Cohn Describes How She Suffered In Getting An Abortion At Age Thirteen

Online vigilantes will babble on and on about how adult men who have sexual intercourse with underage adolescent girls could cause them psychological damage. I don’t believe everything they say. In any event, nobody can dispute the fact that Ethan Fair was no asset to Danielle Cohn’s mental health. Never mind that he was almost the same age as her. He is precisely why our nation needs to draft deadbeat teenage fathers into the military on their eighteenth birthday.

Ethan Fair was 15 years old when he got Danielle Cohn pregnant. He was 16 years old when she confronted him with the fact that she was pregnant with his baby and he turned against her like a betraying angel. He is like a clone of Levi Johnston and Isaac Frausto spliced into one.

Ironically, what I hate so much about deadbeat teenage fathers like Ethan Fair is that they will sit in front of their computer or television set to watch online vigilantes who are Chris-Hansen wannabees, and they will laugh at a 22-year-old male virgin who gets caught attempting to meet up with a 15-year-old girl off the Internet. However, these punks are always completely unwilling to find any fault in themselves despite that they ruin the lives of a countless number of underage girls who fall into the same circumstances as Danielle Cohn.

Of course, the three above-described teenage male vigilantes wouldn’t likely do anything to shame or humiliate deadbeat teenage fathers. They probably think that it is normal adolescent behavior for boys their age to behave the same way that Ethan Fair did with Ms. Cohn and that boys their age can do no wrong to underage girls, whereas they likely believe that older men are the cause of all the problems of teenage girls. When they were dressed in their Batman costumes and were luring men to a given location to confront them on their sexual pursuits, they were lucky that they never came face to face with an armed and dangerous man dressed up like The Joker. These three boys were every definition of collective stupidity, and they probably have not wised up in the intervening past nine years.

The 18-year-old boy in the trio of vigilantes may have found it easy to be giddy in Canada where 15-year-old girls are well within his legal reach in the romance marketplace of that nation. In Canada, the Romeo-and-Juliet provision in their statutory-age-of-consent laws legally immunize a teenage boy, even one over 18 years of age, against any criminal culpability if he is less than five years older than a 14- or 15-year-old girl with whom he has sexual intercourse. If the girl is only 12 or 13 years old, then the age differential shrinks from five years to only two years.

If this same above-described 18-year-old boy had to live in the United States of America and contend with some of the ridiculous statutory-age-of-consent laws here, he would not have been so flamboyant about falsely accusing other adult men of being pedophiles for dipping slightly below the nation’s statutory age of consent in their sexual quests. Men in their late teens are always getting locked up for having sexual relations with 14- and 15-year-old girls in our nation, whereas college freshmen and college sophomores normally confront no legal consequences upon inviting girls that age to wild parties at their fraternity houses in Canada.

I’m not against Romeo-and-Juliet provisions in statutory-rape laws and statutory-age-of-consent laws. I am all for them. However, the point I am trying to make is that this 18-year-old boy was on an ego trip like his two 17-year-old colleagues when he decided to go dressing up like one of the caped crusaders to confront men who crossed over the legal age line to pursue adolescent girls sexually. If he had grown up here in the land of milk and honey, he would have been questioning the integrity and fairness of the statutory-age-of-consent laws here in our nation at least a few times after he reached the legal age of majority.

These three teenage boys in the vigilante group lied to others that they were working for the police. These three teenage boys were still living at home, and they really had no business doing what they did. In view of the fact that underage girls still fall prey to deadbeat teenage fathers to this very day as in the case of Danielle Cohn, it only goes to show you that teenage boys like these three are unwilling to clean up their own doorsteps while they want everyone to buy into their make-believe world of age-appropriate perfection.

It is interesting that this incident took place only three years after Canada raised its statutory age of consent from 14 years old to 16 years old. If nonsense like this was destined to happen in that nation, they probably would have been better off leaving well enough alone with their statutory age of consent. The above-described article mentioned about Rosalind Prober, who was one of the people who pushed for the statutory age of consent to be raised to 16 years old in Canada in 2008. She is another femi-Nazi extremist in sheep’s clothing. Even though I don’t live in Canada and pay taxes there, it is of no consolation to me that people like her live on the other side of the border.

C. My Conclusion To This Topic

American journalists in the press and the media have a duly obligation to report the facts as they are and to avoid misconstruing them into something they are not. The press and the media have wrongfully taken writer’s license with the definitions of “pedophilia,” “child sexual abuse,” “child molestation” and the likes for way too long here in our nation. Even if the people they brand these words on are not exactly wholesome individuals, they have an obligation to be truthful in what they report. If Elon Musk was held civilly liable after he falsely accused someone of being a pedophile, journalists should also be held to the same legal standard. Canadian journalists appear not to be any more professional in that regard.

Online vigilantes who perform sting operations to stop adult men from pursuing sexual liaisons with teenage girls also appear to adhere to this same despicable school of thought. While some online vigilantes have stopped underage adolescent girls from becoming pregnant, being raped and even murdered, many of them appear to have skeletons in their closet that could possibly outnumber the number of skeletons that their suspects have in their closet. Many of these online vigilantes behave like Neanderthals when they go on their sting operations, and they should be required to obtain a private investigator’s license in every state jurisdiction of our nation. Such a requirement would cut back on the number of ones who only do these sting operations for money and fame.
