'I don't expect to see Eden Hazard in a Chelsea shirt next season', Danny Murphy backs the Belgian to make 'inevitable' move to Real Madrid..
Chelsea star Eden Hazard will make the 'inevitable' switch to Real Madrid this summer, believes Danny Murphy.
The Blues playmaker has enjoyed another stellar season with the champions-elect – scoring 15 goals and contributing five assists – and has been instrumental in securing the Premier League title.
However, despite the successful campaign, Hazard, Diego Costa and manager Antonio Conte's futures at Stamford Bridge are all shrouded in uncertainty.
When asked on BBC's Match of the Day who would be the biggest loss out of the three, Murphy replied: 'Hazard for me. He is the game-changer, he’s the superstar in that team. In all the big games I’ve watched he’s been the difference between a draw and a win.
'Very hard to handle individually, fitness levels have been great this season and his end product has been really good as well.
'I don’t expect to see him in a Chelsea shirt with everything we have heard. You hear what Madrid are saying, you hear what Hazard’s saying – it seems inevitable there’s a move in the offing.
'It seems like everybody has that desire to play for Barca or Madrid, when they come knocking you can’t stop these players [from leaving].
'We will have to wait and see, it’s going to be a difficult summer if they do go, two top players (Hazard and Costa).
Fellow pundit Mark Schwarzer went on to say that Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane was a huge admirer of the Belgium international and Chelsea will have a tough task on their hands if they are to keep Hazard at the club.
It appears inevitable that Conte will look to bolster his squad this summer – especially with the departure of captain John Terry.
However if the club lose their star attacking outlets in Costa and Hazard, it could tally up to an expensive transfer window for the champions.
