Ukrainian socialist pro-EU, anti-Trump president Petro Poroshenko (Пётр Порошенко) made an official statement on (ironically) his own VK page about Ukraine officially sanctioning Yandex.ru, OdnoKlassniki ( https://ok.ru/), mail.ru and VK.com – the most used social network used in all of Ukraine.

Socialism Rises

This is nothing but an attack on the free market, on free speech and the interactions between peaceful individuals.

Maybe we could start working on an easy-to-use workaround using TOR technology which will be easy to use, understand and install even for non-IT people? Because I don't think everyone is going to be able to start using proxies that easily, unfortunately. What do you think?

Alternatives

Now is when we need alternatives such as golos.io/ more than ever, but we deeply need something better; something with chats and stuff, because golos is not very user-friendly other than towards experienced bloggers. The GOLOS cryptocurrency is up 20% today and its trading volume has already increased to $33 000. It's currently worth $0,032. Maybe all this is related, maybe not, but big things are definitely going to happen, crypto or in other technological areas. Blocking VK.com in Ukraine would be like blocking Facebook in the U.S., so this is huge, and it's bad. Really bad.

What do you guys think?

Everyone just uses it anyway via TOR. No one has a single problem.
