6 killed in intercontinental hotel attack in Kabul
Gunmen killed six people on Saturday night in Kabul's luxurious intercontinental hotel in Afghanistan's capital Kabul. One of them is foreigner. Eight people were injured.
The news agency AFP reported that four gunmen suddenly attacked the hotel last night. The heavily armed gunmen started firing at the guests while they entered the hotel. A part of the hotel is set on fire. Many guests became hostage.
Immediately after the attack, security forces of Afghanistan took positions on the spot. The Interior Ministry said in a statement Sunday that security forces took control of the situation after 12 hours.
Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danesh Tolo told News, four people were killed. 153 people have been rescued from the hotel including 40 foreigners.
Officials said the attackers fired bullets as well as grenade blasts. Photo shows in Tolo News, black smoke flown from the hotel.
