Industrial Hemp, Medicinal Hemp and CBD - Oh My!

in #news8 years ago

Greetings,

I invite anyone interested in hemp, hemp processing, growing hemp with the thought they are going to be able to use it in food, to pay attention to this issue. Not only will this affect Colorado hemp farmers, it has the potential to be Federal issue.

Veronica Carpio with http://www.Growhempcolorado.com is and has been at the forefront of this issue. She is one of the first hemp farmers in the state of Colorado and has years of experience in both cannabis and hemp. She is the one that raised this issue and first contacted Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. She organized and put together an Emergency Hemp Meeting and brought together the key players.

Why is this so important?

On the 11th of August the US Federal Government quietly and without anyone noticing (except for us) changed their position on hemp. Oh hello! Surprise. https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2016/08/12/2016-19146/statement-of-principles-on-industrial-hemp

Grow Hemp Colorado has put together and provided a timeline with full details. We urge you to get involved, follow along on the Facebook page, twitter, your social media platform of choice.

Between CBD, "medicinal" hemp, industrial hemp, etc, etc. unless we, the public, the consumers, pay attention (please read or listen to the GW Pharmaceuticals earning call... https://docs.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=http://www.growhempcolorado.com/images/CDPHE/GWPhar_InvestorCall_8_9_16.pdf ) because what does it all come down to? Sick kids who need CBD and THC? Small business owners who are trying to sell their hemp food? Farmers who want to grow hemp, sell their seed? Or... politics and money?

Stay tuned. Get involved.

Fighting the good fight. Hemp cbd and medicinal formulations being federally illegal is a joke, an affront to the sick that need medicine and a danger to those that want to help provide it. Good post.
