Henry Ford developed fuel running cars and plastics for building cars from hemp, in fact he was buying up farm land like crazy seeing a day when oil would be useless. Added bonus is that hemp is a nitrogen fixer, it takes nitrogen from the air and puts it in the soil, no need for petroleum fertilizers just crop rotation.
