Three students arrested for trafficking drugs on the Dark Web!!!
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is in charge of coordinating and also involving law enforcement agencies in India in the fight against drug trafficking. The fight against trafficking on the dark web has intensified and has also resulted in multiple arrests this year. In the most recent case of this, Kolkata police had arrested three students that where tied to dark web drugs.
The students, Saumik Mukherjee, Mriganka Banerjee, and Kaustabh Kar had allegedly ran a drug trafficking network that had sold LSD, MDMA, and more synthetic drugs. The three where believed to have bought the drugs off the dark web marketplace. They where arrested when detectives succesfully ran an operation where they posed as buyers.
Detectives of the Kolkata had been informed of the existence of the drug trafficking network and had initiated an operation in which they had posed as buyers. They had acquired infopormation that led to a raid on a residence in Usha Pally, and also the arrest of Mukherjee, a BBA student in an undisclosed college in the city.
After questioned, Mukherjee had disclosed information that led to the arrest of Banerjee and Kar who had studied and also lived in Vivek Nagar. Banerjee had studied computer engineering while Kar had took a degree in Masters of Computer Applications (MCA). An undisclosed amount of LSD and MDMA had been seized from the students after the arrest.
According to the disclosed information given by the police, the students had purchased the drugs from the dark web then had resold them to users in the city, as well as fellow students. The students' trafficking network had used encrypted communication and also a coded language known only by members of the group.
