At the Santiago volcano in Guatemala, a large explosion rocked

On the Guatemalan volcano Santiaguito is a high eruptive activity, accompanied by powerful explosions and pyroclastic flows. On Sunday, August 14 giant made another major eruption, raising a column of ash to a height of 6000 meters above sea level.

The explosion was recorded at 6:29 local time and was marked by the release of large amounts of ash, steam and gas. On the eastern slope of the top of the red-hot rolled masses of volcanic material. Currently dense ash plume moves in a southerly and south-westerly direction, causing ash falls in the neighborhoods of San Felipe, Mazatenango and Retalhuleu.
