The new promise of Elon Musk: make an electric pickup truck
A few days after the end of the year, Elon Musk has made a new promise. It is a project that the automotive company of Silicon Valley has contemplated for some time. The CEO of Tesla has said through his Twitter account that he will make an electric pickup truck right after the Model Y, a small SUV scheduled to be launched between 2019 and 2020.
"I've had the basic design / engineering elements in my mind for almost 5 years, I'm dying to build it," Musk wrote in response to a follower who asked for an "electric pickup truck." He also commented that the size of this vehicle could be comparable to that of Ford's F-150 truck, but perhaps a bit larger to accommodate a feature that he would like to add in a way that is truly innovative.

In addition, the CEO spoke of other characteristics for existing vehicles. Investor Jason Calacanis confirmed that he will review the function that alerts his family when his Model 3 arrives home. He also accepted requests such as including one so that the phone does not connect via Bluetooth automatically, better navigation maps and a "Disco Mode" so that the ambient lights pulse in sync with the music. With this, he has glimpsed what includes the long list of purposes of the company for 2018.
Last November, Musk introduced the Tesla Semi electric truck, whose render is shown in the image below. On the other hand, he also was pleasantly surprised to reveal in the same presentation to the second generation of the Tesla Roadster, the fastest electric vehicle in the world so far.
It is so exciting every time Elon makes an announcement. He has this skill of being able to stir the market whenever he is introducing new concept or product. It takes a brilliant mind and passion for excellence to has made him a driving force for technological innovation.
