How "What is Aleppo" Could Help Gary Johnson

in #news8 years ago

Gary Johnson's now infamous "What is Aleppo?" question during an MSNBC interview 2 or 3 days ago was quickly considered a major blunder for the campaign. All news sources immediately jumped on this story, and all began reporting on the libertarian candidate, whom almost nobody had even heard of before. It wasn't exactly good news, but hey, as they always say, any press is good press. Gary Johnson's name has been in the news far more than he could ever have hoped for, google searches for him have spiked, and he's getting lots more attention. This press coverage of Gary Johnson could very well help him, given that only 31% of Americans can identify him as a politician, according to the wall street journal. Seeing the name "Gary Johnson" in the news on a daily basis will exponentially increase this number, and gain him votes, whether or not he's in the news for a good thing. Overall, this interview slip up could turn into a very good thing for Gary Johnson, but we can only wait and see how it plays out.
