THE NATIONAL FLAG

As a way of respect to my Country, I would like to say the NATIONAL ANTHEM and PLEDGE before I proceed...
THE ANTHEM:
GOD BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA AND MAKE OUR NATION GREAT AND STRONG,
BOLD TO DEFEND FOREVER THE COURSE OF FREEDOM AND OF RIGHT;
FILL OUR HEARTS WITH TRUE HUMILITY, MAKE US CHERISH FEARLESS HONESTY,
AND HELP US TO RESIST OPPRESSORS' RULE WITH ALL OUR WILL AND MIGHT FOR EVERMORE

THE PLEDGE:
I PROMISE ON MY HONOUR TO BE FAITHFUL AND LOYAL TO GHANA MY MOTHERLAND.
I PLEDGE MYSELF TO THE SERVICE OF GHANA WITH ALL MY STRENGTH AND WITH ALL MY HEART.
I PROMISE TO HOLD IN HIGH ESTEEM OUR HERITAGE, WON FOR US THROUGH THE BLOOD AND THE TOIL OF OUR FATHERS;
AND I PLEDGE MYSELF IN ALL THINGS TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE GOOD NAME OF GHANA. SO HELP ME GOD.

Ghana has always been described as the trail blazer in democracy and this is the time to showcase to the whole world that we have arrived and that democracy is here to stay. Out of the 7 qualified presidential candidates for this election, the two leading parties are the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with the candidate in the person of HE. John Dramani Mahama the sitting president and the leading opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

HE. John Dramani Mahama: Sitting President

A John Mahama win will be historic as the only president in the history of the country to have served as President for more than eight years. A lose by President Mahama will be historic because that will be the first time in the history of the country for a sitting president to lose an election and handover to an opposition.

Nana Akufo-Addo: Leader of Leading opposition

A win by Nana Akufo-Addo will be historic. He will be the first-ever president to have unseated a sitting president in a competitive election. A lose by Nana Addo will be historic because, he would have been the first-ever candidate vying for the presidency in the Busia-Danquah tradition to have lost an election three consecutive times.

These makes the two of them and this very election highly competitive

Who is going to win? will a new party evolve outside these two parties? The answer is yet to be discovered.

What are your take on this election? Can you predict the winner from your experience and point of view?

Whatever the outcome will be, it will be a win for Mother Ghana..... Wishing Ghana a PEACEFUL ELECTION.. Long live Ghana!
