Bangladesh Cricket Board goes to election Oct 31

Md Omar Faruk, joint secretary, youth and sports, who is the chief election commissioner, said on Thursday voting will take place on Oct 31.

The election commission will publish a draft list of voters next Monday and the final list on the following day.

It will distribute the nomination papers on Oct 20. The deadline for submitting the nomination papers is Oct 24 and for withdrawal it is Oct 29.

The voting will be held at the BCB's board room from 10am to 5pm and the initial results will be announced later the same day. The official results will be published on Nov 1.

The tenure of the current BCB Board of Directors is ending on Oct 17.

It held its AGM and EGM on Oct 2 and passed amendments to its charter there. Later, the National Sports Council cleared the amended charter.

The election commission was formed at the last meeting of the board on Oct 5.

The other members of the commission are Deputy Attorney General Md Ikramul Haque, National Sports Council Director Md Shukkur Ali, and Legal Adviser Barrister Fahimul Haque. BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury is the ex-officio member of the commission.
