Nyaung Oo airport will be built as a Green Airport with Japanese loan
''Nyaung Oo Airport will be built as Southeast Asia's first Green Green Airport by Japanese loan'', said the permanent secretary for the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
At the press conference about the Ministry of Transport and Communications' 2-year experience, the permanent secretary said, ''This project is not an imaginary project''.
''Green Airport project in Myanmar will be one of Southeast Asia's first Green Airports'',he continued.The Ministry and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be working this project with agreement.
About the project, business model, possibitities and investment spending patterns will be analyzed by JICA.The runway of the Airport will be constructed with Japanese loan and investors will be invited to invest in airport management.''For the Airport project,about eight acres of land must be taken'', he added.
''The area which is scheduled to take the land acquisition is not a good place to plant and this project will be akay only if the regional government and the public accept the project.If they oppose,we will not do this project'',he said.The airport will use only solar energy except aircraft fuel.
''Myanmar and JICA together design The Green Airport in Bagan and this Airport will surely be one of the most compatible airports with the region'',said U Win Khant,the permanent secretary."The airport construction will be cooperated by the other two Ministries:Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Environmental Conservation"he added.
